On this expansive custom home, we crafted numerous features throughout the project, with the primary focal point being the floating main stair. The treads are custom sawn veneers, and miter-wrapped around the floating ½” plate steel supports, with no visible fasteners. The balustrade features our MW tenon guardrail system, with clean, tight and string joints at the base and into the handrail with no under-mounted steel bar in the wood handrail. We are able to integrate wood and metal cleanly with no visible joints between the two dissimilar metals. In the open atrium, the floating stair surrounds a green space, and at night the integrated LED lighting under the treads gives the space a comforting glow. This home was featured in Architectural Digest, and look through the rest of our portfolio for the custom fireplaces, shower enclosure, and white oak louvers we crafted to bring the details together.
