This unique cabin project at the base of Mt. Hood was a huge collaboration between our team and Kevin with AK Builders. Numerous laser-scans were taken of both the interior and exterior to ensure an accurate fit up of our stair and railing systems with the engineered timber frame structure. We integrated the LIDAR point-cloud data into our 3D CAD model to pre-fit as much of the two staircases as possible in the shop to reduce time on site. We also CNC laser cut the aluminum exterior cladding panels based on the scan data for accurate and precise installation on the off-axis geometry of the structure.
