For the NW Natural Street of Dreams 2013, we worked closely with Westlake Development and Garrison Hullinger Interior Design on the home known as “The American Dream” so called for its use of more than 80% American-made raw materials and products.  On this home we were called on the create the custom designed ferrum panels for the stair case in the ‘greek key’ style, with American White oak handrail, and a hand-carved descending volute at the entryway.  We also crafted custom mirror frames carrying the same design cues as the balustrade for the entry way.  The big hit from this project was the steampunk steel fireplace surround.  Fabricated from heavy plate steel and hand-patinaed for a cool, industrial look, this fireplace was a central feature of the upstairs entertainment room.  We also forged some custom beam brackets for the ceiling beams, the rustic bar top, and installed the aged brass bar foot-rail.  It was a great pleasure to work on the various aspects of this project, and an honor to be a part of one of the first Made in America homes, certified by the BBAC.
