This simple minimalist exterior railing is much more than appears at first. Site-fabricated stainless steel with a solid Brazilian Ipe top cap. Part of the same small-square foot home as our “blackened steel handrails”. Built to withstand the punishing environment of the Oregon coast. We built the guard rail frames on site, to be able to notch around the natural stone borders of the entry way. After this initial framing, we brought the pieces back to the shop for final detailing, and to receive our stainless black patina finish. The combination of blackened stainless steel and Ipe for the handrail results in a beautiful railing that with endure the extremes of weather and wind, aging beautifully with the landscape.
